I really appreciate the amount of work it would have taken to put this together (2 months). Keep in mind the entire thing is stop motion video, nothing fake or computer animated other then the part when the letters fall off the page. So in order to simulate the floating/flying they would have had to jump each time!

In the sixties when that style of animated filming was in vogue they called it pixellation (the process of acting out stories through the use of long sequences of single shots. australian actor and well-known patron of animation geoffrey rush starred in an animation documentary as a faux german scientist explaining the technique cos people couldn’t figure out how it was done!

It’s popularity as a technique has grown with the rise of youtube and the huge influx of home-video experimentation.

What i find remarkable is how they managed to keep the light even throughout the sequence not to mention the grass and sand is undisturbed throughout the many of the longer shots which would be impossible to maintain over many days, maybe they spent two months shooting a scene a day paying particular attention to matching the time of day..
