reminiscing
Today I found my old high school yearbook (1998), and what a trip down memory lane it was! my heart was warmed with all the fond memories of friends, teachers, and general school culture… the field trips like the Bio class to Lefaga beach (really, an excuse to go to the beach), Geo class to the villages, interviewing shopkeepers and ending up at the beach as a reward (what was the purpose of the interviews btw? again, another excuse to get to the beach), our infamous girls’ tamagochi dance, netball which i sucked at (just as well the knee popped during that rugby game with Perelini), our many school masquerades (our typical class theme that year? “jungle fever”), always being soso at the littlest things, threats by the teachers that we wouldn’t have a class ball if someone didn’t owe up to stealing Mr. Fagasua’s shorts (still not sure about that full story), school athletics day and always coming 2nd place after Erika in the 100m races), creating the haunted house for school fair and Nyd, the zombie, getting spit in the face, flour and water in the hair of the birthday person, the trip to Manono Island and having to rescue Dani after she got a leg stitch in the water… there are so many endless memories. This post is dedicated to those years… to the wonderful teachers and precious friends come and gone (Tommy and Tracy). My, have we all come a long way since with marriages, babies, and careers.
