boom boom

Well we had an interesting night last night. The Hezbollah caught Haifa off guard, as they really didn’t expect that Hezbollah had the missiles capable of reaching Haifa. As it was we had two hits last night. Hopefully that was it, but I doubt that. I am sure they have many more ready and able aimed in our direction. Of course Katyusha Rockets are really just big fourth July Sky Rockets, very inaccurate and really only deadly when one lands directly on you. They can blow a dish-sized hole in the side of an apartment and blowout the windows. One lady in Nahariya (20km north of us) yesterday morning was having coffee on her balcony enjoying the morning sun when one of these things basically came thru the apartment above and landed in her lap. (not a pretty picture)

Last night two Katyusha rockets hit the side walk in Haifa, about 800 metres from our house, just below the Baha’i Temple site and just above the lower Cave of Elijah. The two rockets came over together boom, boom, only a second apart. They hit the street and the sidewalk and the side of the mountain (no injuries or damages to personal property). Sieni and I saw a small amount of smoke spiraling up. Right after they hit. Immediately everybody was cell phoning and the cell phone network got jammed, and people headed for bomb shelters.

Fun Fun Fun!.

It looks like Israel is kicking some Hezbollah butt, I feel sorry for the poor Lebanese who don’t like the Shia Hezbollah any more than the Israelis do. Unfortunately for them they have them in their government and running the southern border with Israel.

Hopefully Syria and Iran will stay out of it, but I have feeling this will escalate and Israel will have to bring out its big guns.

We will keep you up dated, as things pan out.

We are relatively safe here, we have a well-stocked and very strong bomb shelter and unless one of these missiles drops into our lap we will be OK, so don’t worry we will Duck’n’Dive and Bob’n’Weave.

Glad to hear that you are dodging the bombs. We have been a wee bit concerned. Why can’t everyone over there get on peacefully?!!
Everyone down under sends their love & will watch your space for updates.
Uncle Trevor says there is a lot more open space & further from the rockets down here!
Have just been to Auntie Freda’s 100th birthday party. Looking forward to seeing your folks & Nasime next week, India isn’t much better at the moment either. Lots of love to all three of you.
