Alofa week

Posted by sieni on May 31st, 2006 — Posted in Family

For my quarter of the century birthday last week, Saba presented me with a beautiful photo album of all my baby pictures and family photos from the younger days. He worked together with mom, dad, Ioana & Pat to get the pics scanned and emailed in time to collate them together. I LOVE IT! So thoughtful and moving, especially with baby on the way. Thank you hon, and thank you guys for making me feel oh so spasle! As with every year with Saba, the birth-day turns into a birth-week so for 7 days I was constantly being showered with little and big tokens of alofaz… like the waffles in the early morning with candles, dinner and movie (MI:3–totally trying to copy 24), renting the car, trip to Herziliyya with the Ishikawas (thanks guys! we reallly enjoyed our company with you three lovies), tan outing at Nahariyya beach, batting competition (we won’t mention who won a ea luff? ;O), and prayers around the Haram-i-Aqdas in Bahji… baby was kicking very gently (don’t worry my little moosh, my prayers are always for you)… it’s going to be one heck of an alofa year, and I’m so looking forward to it!

Ultrasounds & baby names

Posted by sieni on May 25th, 2006 — Posted in Tara

Yesterday we went to Ram Bam hospital for our 6-month mark ultrasound. They’re just renovating the place so there was some construction work happening in and around the building. We found the “US” section and waited for our appointment with the specialist. We were reeeeeeeally excited. We got to see our baby’s “feutal head” (in that thick Israeli accent), hands (I counted 5 fingers), stomach, ribs, spine, feet, femur, and head profile… incredible. We told the doctor we didn’t want to know the gender so he avoided down dere. In the background there was a faint thump, thumping noise. Saba and I both seriously thought if it was the heartbeat but lo and behold it was just the construction workers in the next room.

With the baby arriving in 3 months’ time, we are at the point of searching for names to call our little Sabeni… any suggestions?

Humbled…

Posted by saba on May 19th, 2006 — Posted in Family, Friends

thank you

Sieni, baby Sabeni, and I cannot express enough our feelings for what our dearest friends surprised and shocked us with yesterday. They created a “Heal Saba’s Digital World Fund”, “for the Relief for Saba’s camera rescue”, “Baby Sabeni’s appearances in this wold fund”, “quirky camera”, “Saba relief fund”, etc., with proceeds going towards…  wait for it… a new camera! HAHAHA  :D  I can’t WAIT!!!!  mmmm Faraz you’re right the Z1000 is looking so good!

Such gems! Such spirited giants! Such a precious gift. We are extremely and completely humbled, thankful and so grateful to have such beautiful, selfless, thoughtful,  and caring friends. Baby Sabeni is so blessed to have such wonderful aunties and uncles, amus and ame joons, I guess you wont know what you are until it’s born. hee hee. So from the bottom of our hearts…

thank-you

P.S. As you can see Sieni totaly QC’ed this for me.  lol

P.P.S. The person who broke the camera never ended up coming forward, poor them.

…today was a sad day for me, I came back from lunch to find my camera sitting broken on my desk, on closer examination it looks like someone dropped it. It’s completely broken… I hope whoever did it will stepup  :(

WOOT!!! $65!!!

Posted by saba on May 17th, 2006 — Posted in Random moments

Well you may have noticed that I added this advertisement to the side bar

Well… Guess what, I just read that Blue Host will give me $65 for every person that signs up through me!  Sooooo  how would you like to have your very own website???? hee hee Money aside you have to know I have been totally recommending http://bluehost.com/ to everyone.

They are such a customer service oriented company, when I call I never have to wait more them a minute, and on top of that I’m always speaking to someone in-house who really knows there stuff.  Their e-mail help system is also just as good.

I think what really convinced me that they were the right place to sign-up was 2 things.  The first was reading there CEO’s blog – he really is in the business with the right ethics.  The second was with the program that Lessan showed me that blue host proved as part of the package called ‘Fantastico’
Fantastico is a page that list all the programs you could ever want to run on a webpage, from blogs, Image Galleries, Polls and Survey, E-Commerce and Mailing Lists 17 different categories in total.  Each category has the most popular software you can chouse from and with a click of a button it automatically sets it all up for you and keeps it running with the latest version.

For those of you who know nothing about having your own web ‘space’ its real easy!  I was always negative about getting my own website/blog/album etc. because I know nothing about programming.  5 years ago there is no way I could have made a website but now it’s so easy, everything is just drag and drop, fill in text boxes etc. Fantastico all the way!! AND if you sign up I’ll help you get it all going (chessesesesesy huh? hey its $65 bucks! hee hee)
